Early Careers Program Manager

Pearson is looking for a Program Manager, Strategic Transformation to join its Digital & Technology (D&T) team in Durham, NC. This position will support project planning, execution, and governance of large-scale programs supporting internal technology stakeholders, including the internship program. The successful candidate will have early careers, project management, program management, and strategic planning experience in a technology organization. They will be proactive, stakeholder-centric, and highly collaborative. This position is located in Durham, N.C. with core work hours in the Eastern time zone. The position will primarily be in the office at a minimum on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development, deployment, administration, and continuous improvement of large-scale, complex programs, including the internship program and technology learning events.

Develop strategic plans to drive impact for internal stakeholders.

Draft user materials, guidance, SOPs, program governance, and project plans.

Monitor, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of internal programs, making data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Set program objectives, define project scopes, and align them with the organization's strategic goals.

Create and maintain an organized program structure to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Lead administrative and logistical requirements for complex programs including virtual events and in-person employee engagements.

Independently manage large-scale technology projects and programs while delegating and tracking tasks assigned to peers.

Clearly communicate with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.

Work with leadership to ensure alignment, engagement, and collaboration across D&T and larger Pearson organization.

Report project progress, key milestones, and challenges to leadership.

Work cross-functionally with varying levels of seniority to collect requirements, execute projects, and report outcomes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business (with an IT concentration), Computer Science, IT Management, or a related field.

3-5 years of experience in early careers, program management, project management, consulting, technology, business operations, strategy, or a similar role preferably within a technology environment.

Strong understanding of technology and technology skills relevant for early career/intern roles and employee learning and development.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
